Forestry mulching
Forestry mulching in East Texas
A mulcher grinds brush and small trees into ground cover where they stand. Ours is a Kubota track machine with an FAE mulcher head, run by a locally owned, veteran owned company based in Fruitvale.
What forestry mulching is
Forestry mulching uses a mulcher head on a track machine to grind brush and small trees into mulch right where they stand. The mulch typically stays where it falls, so there is usually no burn pile and no hauling.
The head spins and shreds whatever it reaches, which suits thick growth that is hard to walk through. Say what you want kept before the machine moves, because it cuts whatever is in front of it.
When mulching is the right choice

- Overgrown pasture edges: take brush back from the tree line and fence rows.
- Undergrowth: open thick growth so you can see the ground again.
- Access and trails: cut a path to part of your property you cannot reach.
- Fence rows: clear brush that has crept up along a fence.
- Around a building site: mulch the brush and small trees so the ground can be seen before a lot is surveyed or built on.
Forestry mulching or full clearing
Mulching leaves ground cover on the surface and typically leaves the roots in the soil. If you plan to grade, pour a slab or set a building, roots and stumps in the footprint may need to come out. That is land clearing, and when the ground also needs leveling it leads to dirt work and site prep. Tell us your plans and we will say which fits.
How it works
- 1. You call 903-980-0809 and tell us where the land is and what has grown up on it.
- 2. We look at the job and talk through what stays, like a good oak, a corner post or a tree near the house.
- 3. The machine makes its passes, grinding brush and small trees as it goes.
- 4. We clean up the work area before we leave.
Where we work
We are based in Fruitvale, just off US-80, and we mulch land around Grand Saline and in towns within about 60 miles. The service area page lists the towns. We also have pages for Canton, Mineola, Lindale and Wills Point. Near the edge of that area? Call and ask. A mulcher is for brush and small trees. Larger trees go to tree removal, and stumps to stump grinding.

Questions about forestry mulching
They are ground into mulch where they stood, and the mulch typically stays on the ground. That is how the method works, so a mulching job does not usually involve a burn pile or hauling. If your job needs something different, tell us when you call 903-980-0809.
Mulching cuts growth at the surface, and the roots typically stay in the ground. Some trees can resprout from those roots. If you need stumps gone, we also offer stump grinding. Describe your trees when you call and we will tell you what to expect.
A mulcher is built for brush and small trees. For a firm answer on a specific tree, call 903-980-0809 and describe it. Larger trees may belong with our tree removal crew, and we will tell you which when we see what you have.
That depends on how thick the growth is and how much ground is involved, so we look at the land before we say anything about time. Call 903-980-0809 and tell us about the land. The estimate is free.
